I have been watching your films recently, and have rediscovered the pleasure of walking my own area: Shooters Hill, Plumstead Common and Eltham. I have spent much time in the Lea Valley. It has a fascinating Quaker history. Many Quakers, including the Barclays, were brewers in the valley.
Thanks for that Malcolm – yes there’s a big Quaker presence still in Leytonstone. Oddly, my hometown of High Wycombe was also a significant Quaker town
Re: Error In Your Website…?
Hi,
Hope your business is doing fantastic this year.
I was doing some industry benchmarking for a client of mine when I came across your website. I noticed a few technical errors which correspond with a drop of website traffic over the last 6-8 months which I thought I would bring to your attention.
I was analyzing your site and it seems that some of your website rankings have dropped. It is due to non optimized techniques/errors And Google guidelines not being followed properly.
• Your web page failed on 4 high priority checks: Meta Description, Headings Status, Broken Links Test, URL Canonicalization Test
• Your most common keywords are not appearing in one or more of the meta-tags above. Your primary keywords should appear in your Meta.
• Site link diversity and Domain Authority is low
• URL Canonicalization should resolve to the same URL, but currently do not.
• 5 of them are missing the required ‘alt’ attribute.
• Your website should load quicker
• Your webpage has so many ‘img’ tags and 5 of them are missing the required ‘alt’ attribute.
• Your page has more than 20 http requests, which can slow down page loading.
I would love the chance to help as well however; this report will at least give you a gauge on the quality of what I do. If you are interested then please share your requirement and contact details.
Thanks & Regards

Hi John. Great visit to Stokey. Thanks. I visited coronation gardens today. There is one of the few statues to a black perrson there and I discovered at the back of the garden, what is described as a maze. It is however a labyrinth. Labyrinths are mystical things demanding reflection and contrast to mazes which employ the conscious mind to solve. Coronation gardens backs onto an allotment. Have you commented on this area before?
Thanks Douglas – glad you found the statue. It features in a few videos and I also mentioned it in a recent post on the issue of statues
Was concerned. I haven’t seen any new walks or gotten any notices. Hopefully all is well!👍👍
New walks in Enfield area?
Possibly Antony – good suggestion
great videos john rogers as always ..have you made any videos on Hackney Henge ? thanks
Just watched The video of you in the little boat on the river Rodding. It WAS THE BEST!!👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much Christine I had an amazing time
Just watched your Elizabeth Line video! Very good. I love when you get “lost”, as the light is fading ,out in a field!! Magically you stumble into civilization! Reminds me of the first videos I watched.😄💌👍
You seem to have some new fancy shanty recording equipment. Where you using a drone?
Thanks for the walks and education. I am a confirmed Anglophile living in the crazy U.S.
Dear John
Your walks are a source of relaxation, information, and inspiration. I just watched your YouTube episode with Ian Sinclair set in Hatchards in Piccadilly. I was inspired by your talk about community activism. Currently I am researching for an article on my field – suicide – for the scientific journal, Nature. I came across a cluster of youth suicides in South Wales – a paragraph is appended – and it did enter my mind to do a walkabout in Bridgend, looking out for the ‘new slums’. Had it ever entered your mind to have a shufty at South Wales? Your medium is ideal. The River Ogmore passes close by, although it doesn’t actually go through Bridgend.
Kindest regards,
Paul
